Thumb Fin (Yellow) Thumb Rest

Works as expected. Great on a precision or jazz bass. A bit too low for a hofner. It Can be used on a rickenbacker, but the sweet spot for me is over the edge of the pickguard. A zeromod ordered for the rick.

In all cases the suction works well for 4 hours of a performance. The fin is very firm and comfortable for the duration of the show. Quite stubborn when trying to remove it and I worry I'll damage the suction cups. It's really great to put further back near the bridge to get a brighter sound.

Ease of use. Does not mark bass. Especially helpful for me when playing up by neck.

Using on a Hofner 500/1. The pickup position doesn't leave a lot of room to rest the hand. The comfort and playability are much improved with the Thumb Fin. Would give this product a 4.5 if able. Will consider addition for other basses.

Maybe explore some optional colors - black, white, silver?

Ordered one of these for my Fender Fullerton P-Bass Uke as I didn’t want to drill any holes into the small acoustic body. Found this gadget online and love the simplicity of it! (Only wish I’d thought of it myself). The yellow I ordered is a great colour with my bass’ sunburst finish, and I’ve had no issues with it moving so far whilst playing (albeit practicing and not gigging). Such a super easy way to add a useful function and a pop of colour. Thanks all!

At first look, I was not convinced. Two little suction cups, will they be stable enough? My first trial said no. I tried it on my Epiphone Violin Bass directly on the polyester finish. The suction cups moved and didn’t stick for a complete song. Then I used a little moisture on them and cleaned the surface before applying pressure. That was 3 days ago and it hasn’t budged! I get greater articulation and tone now, not to mention comfort. This is just the thing needed when you have a smooth clean surface to position it on and don’t want to drill or glue a thumb ramp.
